Outlook from room good on third floor at rear, nicely quiet. Room facilities good, line clean. Breakfast excellent.
Could be improved with better hand rail on top flight of stairs.
it was quiet warm clean breakfast was good nothing was any problem
Convenient, clean, friendly and helpful staff especiallly receptionist, great breakfast.
The location to the city centre foremost. We had hoped for a little more luxury hotel than this hotel in fact is. Pictures on the internet do it far more justice than in real life. However, for York city centre the price should really tell all. Breakfast was good, service good but the hotel was full of school children, I imagine a regular feature. The staff advised us on how to avoid meal times with the children which was thoughtful.
Having to walk two doors down the street to the main hotel for breakfast in the pouring rain. No comfortable lounge/bar to sit for a chat.
I was most happy with the hotel, as I have been for several years now. Love the new bathroom in room 5!!! Jane Gamble
I was sorry not to have breakfast in the breakfast room, due to the presence of large groups in the hotel who were given the room in preference to non-group guests like myself.
Good value for money, nice breakfast, good location and friendly staff. Also on site parking was a bonus.
We found a pair of knickers in the bedside drawer.
An excellent base for sightseeing in York and getting to the station, within walking distance. The staff very friendly and helpful, breakfasts very good with plenty of choice, also have a carpark attached to hotel. Room quite large with flat screen tv comfortable bed and quiet hotel
There is nothing I didnt like about the hotel
The staff were so friendly and helpful, giving directions, helping with luggage (which they stored for us before departure) offering to book taxis etc.
My Mother who is 71 struggled with the stairs a lift would have been helpful.
Closeness to city centre - quiet location.
Breakfast! Great choice of excellent food served by friendly and attentive staff. Very welcoming on arrival too and the fact that they rearranged the rooms a little so that three of us could be in rooms near one another
The only thing that I have to say is absolutely not the fault of the hotel. One of the other guests was very loud and pompous which caused disturbance during the night and at breakfast time. However, I didn't let it spoil my w/e away
The hotal was in easy reach of the city centre
Hotel was very well situated, not far to walk to city centre.Staff friendly and pleasant.
There were lots of children staying above our rooms and they were extremely noisy. The staff did their best to quieten them. Problems at breakfast time as there were not enough places to seat everyone at the same time, also some items of breakfast had run out.
Hedley House Hotel was an excellent spot for our city trip. The room we booked was very spacious bigger than we were expecting, excellent facilities, everything anyone would want and more.Lovely comfortable beds,on suite was perfect.Staff were very welcoming and polite. If only we had realised there was a jacuzzi and sauna we would have packed our swimming gear. The food was absolutely worth staying in for and very good value for money. Car park was a bonus. Would definitely recommend and definitely be coming back.
It was very comfortable with a wonderful, huge bed. The bathroom was lovely . It was really quiet and the thick curtains meant that it was dark (I need extreme darkness to sleep and rarely find it in hotels). There was handy parking and it took only 10 minutes to reach the centre of York on foot.
Location, very comfy bed and bedding, bathroom, friendly welcome.
Slight issues with noise from other bedrooms, some paintwork a bit worn. Felt a bit pricey, but maybe York is just an expensive place for a weekend, especially in the run up to Christmas.
